Unethical hiring practices and apparent blacklisting. I previously declined a contract opportunity due to accepting a full-time role elsewhere, as well as concerns about the low compensation being offered. During the process, the pay for the contract role was not only below market expectations but was reportedly reduced further, even as affordability concerns were raised.
After declining under these circumstances, I was no longer considered for future opportunities, suggesting candidates may be penalized for making reasonable career and financial decisions. This raises serious concerns about fairness, transparency, and professionalism in the hiring process, as well as how candidates are treated when they advocate for equitable pay.

I had my first hiring manager round and felt I answered everything well. Unfortunately, I wasn’t selected to move forward, though I believe I was a strong fit for the role.

I applied the position online and was schedule an interview with hiring manager directly (no HR screening). Basically, I was asked to discribe my previous experience. I explained several my previous projects - objectives, methods, etc. hiring manager asked her questions simultaneously. After the interview I sent my thank you letter, and got replied from the hiring manager. She said I was too nervous to explain technical details and she would like to schedule a second meeting to dive deeper. I was very grateful for the second chance and prepared a lot of technical details (I even prepared a slide deck to make sure all details). Then during my explanation of my technical methodology in the second meeting, she was totally lost and emphasized that the position need to communicate with people without relevant background. I was very confused. She was the one to ask me to dive deeper in tech details, and now she just simply changed her idea and talking about communication skills. Then I checked the background of the hiring manager and turned out her background is not even close to the position. I don’t think it’s a very professional team.
