Interview process was interrupted and long, initial approach was fine but then the recruiter "dissapeared" for more than 30 days, eventually contacting me to continue with other areas (HR, Finance and Logistics).
Outcome was fine as i got a post interview call from AbbVie HR on clarifying actual compensation (I did got a performance review at my actual job resulting on a salary increase) I clarified my expectations and got told that in order to extend an offer they would need to confirm references which they did directing me to believe that i would get an offer (all of the references contacted me eventually and some even shared their recommendation letters which were great).
Then yesterday, after contacting people which professionally surrounds me and making clear reference to a hiring process, i got told by the recruiter they they decided to go with a more "economic" candidate.
Yet, the people around me was contacted despite i being clear on my expectations, I am definitely not disappointed on getting or not the job because even with an offer extended from AbbVie I would have to analyze if its the right move for me (I already got a great job at a great place) but definitely dissapointed by them contacting people around me for references to then go for a less expensive option.
Recommendation: Latin american countries are quite small and the professional network is even smaller, show respect on your hiring process by not involving communication with third parties unless you are sure of what you want, and that you can pay for it.
