I found out that Aaple was opening a new store in Chicago last year so I decided to apply. I got an email invite to attend a hiring event. I went to the event and sat in a room at a hotel downtown with about 30-40 people. We ran through the basic standard 'why it's great to work at Apple' videos and did a partner introduction activity. This took about an hour and a half, after which we were sent home. When I received an email inviting me back for another interview I got pretty excited. I returned to the same hotel with 2 coppies of my resume and a smile. This was a more personal interview with 2 Apple employees. I was asked all the standard questions like 'why apple' and 'describe a time that a customer...' blah blah blah... and then the 3 of us chatted quite candidly for about 20 mins about all sorts of things. About a week later I got the generic 'we've decided to not choose you' email.
