The process for volunteering is quite simple. Fill out an application online and send it in, if accepted you will attend a session where a few questions are asked to determine your interest and program, and then sign up for shifts.
A 15 minute interview with the volunteer coordinator. Be prepared to answer typical interview questions such as "tell me about yourself." The interview was in person and very casual. You meet at the coordinators office and meet with her.
