It was a ridiculously long process, even after they bumped me down a couple of levels!!
HR screening,
MD screening,
Personality/aptitude test,
Excel case interview,
Case interview with a Director,
Final case interview that is in-person.
Maybe this is the nature of the job market we are in, but the number of rounds is quite ridiculous. The most idiotic round was the final case interview that’s not actually a case It could be a take-home assignment for two days, but instead of two days you’re given 1.5 hours. What’s the goal here? To get to surface level solutions that appear logical? To hit numbers for the sake of hitting numbers without actually solving the underlying issues faced by clients?
They don’t do strategy, they do execution for “failing” companies. That almost always means reducing headcount, closing locations, etc. All of this is propped up by failed “partners” taking over this company from their big competitors- AlixPartners.
One word to describe this company, the interview process, and the kind of work they do - ridiculous.
