I applied online and received an email within a week inviting me for a phone interview with the HR recruiter. In the email, you will also be informed what the interview process would be. They ask you to prepare for the interview and send you some links for you to understand more about their company. The first phone interview was short and sweet. Mainly just to chat and understand a little bit about your background and experiences. In the end of the phone interview, the contact window in HR scheduled the 2nd phone interview with me and informed me what I should prepare for this interview.
The second interview takes about an hour, there are discussions about your past experiences, suggestions and design thinking, followed by an online technical test for your HTML & CSS knowledge. Then that's the end of it.
About a week later, I received a call asking for my feedbacks about the interview and meanwhile, informing about theirs and invited me to fly to Amsterdam for the next interview.
The HR contact then helped to arrange the interview schedule, the flight and hotel within a week.
During the final interviews, I met with four designers, one recruiter and one manager during the 4.5 hours staying in Booking.com. My first interview with 2 designers are more focus on my design experiences, thinking and knowledge with CSS. Second one was with other 2 designers and focused more on brainstorming for a real-life project. Third one is with a recruiter who gave a clear picture about what the company provides and my salary expectation. My final one meeting with the manager wasn't part of the original plan but we had a good chat talking about the company, my thought and vision about the products and the future.
The next working day, they gave me positive feedback about the interview and offered me the position. The whole process is very smooth, professional, clear and helpful to find out how you think, work and communicate.
