Pathetic unprofessional process. I was told there will be 3 rounds 2 tech/1HR. Was asked to take the day off since they wanted to finish the process on the same day. was called to their office for F2F, excuse me but F2F does not mean you go sit in their open floor plan with 20 ppl working and talking and taking con call around you and you give an interview on a reciever. The first round went about 50 min, the interview was good knowledgeable. Very enthusiastic. It went well, even the interviewer said at the end to wait for the HR to arrange for your 2nd round (which I took it to mean I had done well). After the call the HR came to me and said the 1st round interviewer was unavailable right now to provide my feedback so I should go home. Waste of my day.
But after 3 weeks of this happening the same HR called to schedule for the 2nd round. I reconfirmed with her about the role and JD. She agreed it was a lead position for a MDM project.
For the 2nd round the interview called an hour before the scheduled time and seemed to get irritated that I was expecting the call later and would he be on hold for a min till I connect to my headphones. And within the 10min he tolerated to talk to me he got irritated that my last project was maintenance and support and said 'so your last proj was maintenance' 3 times. I realized his dissatisfaction and tried to assure him that I have also work on a development proj in the same technology before and would be happy to answer his questions and would be willing to brush up my skills if the proj required it.
He says 'we need developers for our project'. Which I took it to mean there must be a communication gap happening here. I reassure him again that my current role also has development responsibility and try to explain to him my role in the latest custom coding done and how this has enhanced the out of the box capabilities of the software.
But he was so preoccupied with notion of me not being a developer without asking any development question that he interrupted in between and said we can end the call unless I have any questions.
My question to capgemini is this "Did you not see my resume and shortlist me".
"Was the interviewer not given my resume beforehand, or did he just call me to say to me personally that my latest proj is maintainance"
"And how did you measure on that my overall skill, isnt that interviews are for? to see if the candidate is capable"
