I did the first round screener call with HR. The interview was coordinated by her junior team member...which is not uncommon. I had a good video call. The person was very keen on recommending me for the position, however thought I was over qualified. I mentioned that it wasn't a problem. I just wanted a job. She asked about my salary expectation. It was too high for them. I agreed to come to their level but asked if they were able to afford a compromise by an increase in 5k a year beyond their bracket. Never heard back 2 weeks after she asked for my availability the following week. Finally I got in touch by sending an email to the person that interviewed me. I got a response from her junior team member again that they cant afford the hire. I thought for a company that's not so large, having someone else respond like that was rude and unnecessary. It takes 30 seconds to draft an email and communicate to someone you had a conversation with. They are not so large to be so impersonal or not so small that they can't afford someone with more experience.
