The process is extremely long and can take almost two months. I started by submitting a profile and resume online on 12SEP2012, and was then invited by a recruiter to fill out the entire application (which is long and detailed). Next is a phone screen with the regional recruiter. The questions were standard and she moved me on to the face to face interview with a senior financial advisor in my area. That lasted another hour and was again, very standard. While you're doing your interviews headquarters is running your background checks. Once your background check clears you need to write out a business plan using their template and complete a door to door survey activity in order to get a feel for the prospecting part of the job. This took about 4 hours to complete. There was also a final phone interview with the talent acquisition manager (another 45 minutes) and finally, a four hour long "day in the life" virtual assessment. That last piece is where I think I blew it. It was very hard so if you make it to that point, make as many phone calls as you can, don't waste time! I received a standard rejection email today.

All of the interview questions are basic - watch out for the virtual assessment. Pick up the phone and dial!

Interview process first consists of numerous dinner events, all very laid back where you get to learn more about the company and the advisors in the region, and they get to learn more about you. If you keep getting invited back to dinners, consider it progress in the interview process. Honestly, the best, most effective interview process.

it's a series of interviews with people in the office then a full-day of simulating the role of the advisor where you're receiving calls from clients and team mates as well as receiving emails. As a career-changer, this was the part of the interview phase where I realized Edward Jones wasn't the right start to my career as a financial advisor and ended up going somewhere that invested in my growth rather than a "sink or swim" type of place.

Interview process is very lengthy. 6 steps, very in depth. HR screening, in person interview, 1 year plan, day in the life role play (3 hours long) where you had to call actors who were playing clients and prospects
