I had a very good, very positive interview process that included a phone interview followed by a group interview and a one on one extended meeting with senior management. The senior management personnel had also led the group interview. My background as it related to the position was very strong but I didn't receive a return phone call after the interviews. II continued to follow up with their HR department and pushed quite strongly for an explanation. The HR rep finally told me "You're too old. We want someone who can be in the job for 20 years." (I was 55.) if that was their opinion, so be it, but I was surprised they were so clear about their concern.

There were no difficult or unexpected questions for me. I've been in this industry 25 years, I know my field and I know what is expected of a good manager. All of the questions centered around my management skills and philosophy, technical background and my understanding of the industry.
