Entrevista
The recruiter I spoke with couldn't even keep track of who I had interviewed with. Very inconsiderate and unprofessional.
Received an email from a recruiter within a few days of applying for the role. I had a 30 minute Google Hangout call with the recruiter who was based in Madrid.
The call went well. Basic questions about my experience and background. At the end I was told I've be having a call with the hiring manager as a next step.
When I sent a thank you email to the recruiter, I received an auto-response saying she'd be on vacation for the next 3.5 weeks. No meeting with the hiring manager was scheduled.
A few days after the return date in her auto-response, I sent a follow up email asking if there were any next steps for me. Nearly a week later she emailed me back saying that while the hiring manager enjoyed my conversation with her and learning about my background, they don’t see an exact match. I never spoke with the hiring manager or anyone other than this recruiter (which at this point was nearly a month ago). The least a recruiter can do is keep track of where you are in the interview process, know who you've spoken with, and respond to you in a timely manner — none of those things happened with Eventbrite.

Interview process was standard:
1. Phone screen
2. Interview exercises
3. Phone call to discuss salary and benefits -- can't decide if this was premature, or too late given that I'd already done hiring exercises and one interview round already
4. Panel interview with 4 people
The interviews all seemed to go well and the team lead told me that I would "definitely" hear back by the following week.
When I didn't hear back, I followed up and was told the team was still making a decision and that I'd get an update the following week. The promised update never came-- not even a "we need more time to decide" update. I had to follow up again a month later to hear that I hadn't been hired. If I hadn't followed up twice, I highly doubt I'd have gotten a response from EventBrite at all.
After following up twice, I was offered a Google chat to discuss feedback from the hiring team. The only negative feedback given was that my experience wasn't quite a match with the type of business that EventBrite is-- obviously not useful, given that EventBrite knew exactly what my experience was from my résumé before interviewing me. Also, I was told that the reason I never heard anything from EventBrite was because the team was looking to expand in early-mid 2022 (I interviewed in September and early October). Of course, that excuse makes absolutely no sense; they could've told me this via email and that's not a viable reason to leave someone hanging for 5 weeks after she was promised to get a response.
I understand not getting the job, however, I found the lack of communication completely unprofessional. I spent nearly a full workday's worth of time interviewing, doing hiring exercises, even taking a phone call with them from an airport while on vacation (which they knew), and EventBrite couldn't muster the energy to write a one-line email to let me know I didn't get the job.
A company that can't write a one-sentence email to close the loop with an invested candidate after hours of interviews clearly doesn't value people's time. I hope EventBrite treats future job candidates with more dignity.

Mostly about my professional experience and how it related to the role. Hard to remember any other questions right now; I interviewed 6 weeks ago.
