Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 2 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela FinCompare (Berlim) em jul. de 2024
Entrevista
I had the interview with FinCompare at the beginning of July.
The first HR call was quite common: general questions about motivation, past experience etc.
The second round was technical interview with a backend team lead.
The interview was split into 2 parts:
- golang related questions (~30min, concurrency). I was provided snippets of code and had to explain the behaviour and fix it.
- system design (~20min)
Both interviews were super friendly. No pressure at all. I really enjoyed participating on the interviews there.

I can't really recall the snippets.
But there were 3 snippets during the golang part:
2 related to concurrency and 1 related to implementing the usage of "Cache" client for the existing "db client".

The process was straight forward and in terms of time investment ok.
1. Call with the Hiring Manager to check if it would be potentially a fit for both sides
2. Technical interview with the principal engineer
3. A talk with the head of engineering
4. A talk with the teamlead with a lot of insights into the working mode, challenges, the situation, expectations, etc.
5. Team fit - A conversation with the team members which in both sides had the chance to get to know each other better
It sound like it's quite a lot of interviews, but none of them took super long. For each round, the next follow up was set up a few days later. I appreciate the comfortable atmosphere and transparency in the interviews.
To wrap it up: The hiring process was a nice experience, the interviewers were communicative, transparent, no trick questions, and really interested in you - Nothing to complain from my side.

In the technial interview, there were some questions which required a little deeper knowledge about Golang under the hood and a system design task - No homework, no live coding. The entire technical interview took about 1h.
In the other rounds, the questions were more or less what you would expect for such a role.
