I had one phone interview that took 45 minutes, and almost after 10 days was invited to have the on-site interview. There I had 5 subsequent interviews wherein the first one was about my thesis, and the other 4 were technical questions.

one phone call, and 4-5 on-site interviews, I started with a phone interview for 45 minutes (see question below), then I got scheduled for 5 on site interviews, 4 coding interviews and 1 Machine Learning focused interview.
