If they like your CV they send this "quick challenge assignment" which is pure BS. They expect you to answer questions to that role KNOWING that you haven't been trained yet.
You have a timer to read this total random situation that the costumers is going through, while you learn on the timing about the product that the costumer purchased and also learn the companies policies and details. So is 3 different customers, 3 different products, 3 different policies and you are supposed to fix them all in the chat under 10 minutes. You read it right.
THIS IS RIDICULOUS! NO AGENT IN THE WORLD DOES THAT! THATS WHY WE HAVE TRAINING WEEKS!! So why on EARTH you make the candidates go through such an unpleasant, already stressful process?? Maybe try on learning about the people you are trying to hire, their personality to see if is a good fit and THEN train them to your crazy "quick challenge assignment", you know, ONCE WE ARE FREAKING PREPARED FOR IT?!?!!!!!
After that you have a typing test (rolling eyes hard rn. I mean we are on digital area people, of course we can type. Why companies do that?)
And then there's the english test with english terms, expressions or questions that no one has used in the past 50years or so.
Annnd Voilá! If you managed to pass the most annoying interview test on earth, you might get a call. Good Luck!

Interviews questions are just as BS as the test. Same old "Why do you wanna work for us?" "What makes you special?" "Tell me about a difficult situation and how you handled it?" "What is your strength and weaknesses?" "How you think your boss/coworkers would describe you"?

A recruiter reached out weeks after I had initially applied for the role. They were personable and enthusiastic, and I was moved to the HM round the next day. The Hiring Manager call was pretty standard, and they were upfront at they end that they will move me to the next round which was the SQL live assessment. The questions they gave were pretty standard, but I messed up the syntax for a typical window function which made them feel unsure about my SQL skills, so they asked that I do a take home assessment to further test my technical skills that will be reviewed with someone on the team in a call. I agreed, but the take home wasn't even SQL related and I was under the impression that it would be since they said they felt unsure in that area. I was given the option to produce a write up at the end or presentation, I opted for the write up. After I submitted the assignment, the call to go over it was swiftly scheduled.
Now that I've looked at other glassdoor reviews, I shouldn't have been surprised that the structure of the call went completely opposite from my expectations. I was under the impression we would go over the write up I produced and answer any questions, but the call was basically a whole new live business case assessment with the same dataset and the interviewer asking for new calculations on the spot.
After this half round, there is supposed to be another call with a partner team and then meeting a co-founder but I'm pretty sure they're going to reject me with how that last round went.

How would you calculate the most optimal number of active listing for a particular city?
Be careful about applying to Hopper. They will take you through many rounds of ambiguous, average difficulty, and uncoordinated interviews - only to drop you along the way for candidates further along the process. (Yes, the multiple rounds and 'loop' is designed to put multiple candidates through the process, you won't know how many, and they will drop you as soon as somebody reaches first).
100% remote company - therefore low accountability. Be warned.
