I was really excited about interviewing with IXL, they have a great product and it seems like a great opportunity to influence the education sector.
The phone interview went really well, the interviewer was super nice and knowledgable about the company/role. After passing the phone interview I took a written test in which you answer customer service/sales emails. The test was pretty easy, all you had to do was search their website and apply business communication skills. I think the test is just to see how effort you are willing to put into the interview process as you will have to spend a few hours on their site. The in-person was a different story.
First off, the interviewers made me wait a LONG time between interviews and each person that interviewed me seemed very fake without any personality. They read their questions off like a script and refuse to give personal emails which means you cannot write them a thank you letter. Beyond that, the cubicles are super quiet and it almost seems like there's a lack of a company culture. They're also in a generic office building that isn't much too brag about either.
If you receive an offer, I suggest you only take it because you need employment.
