You have a recruiter call and waste your time for thirty minutes. They have never stepped foot on your potential unit. I had one recruiter go over salary and another one just say "I don't know about that, I don't control it," without me bringing up the issue. For one position there was a remote interview before an in person interview and unit shadow. My biggest red flag was that all the nurses I met were either brand new or had been on the unit less than two years. I was told there were more seasoned staff but I didn't meet them.

I was scheduled for an interview, and even sent a Microsoft Teams invite by the hiring manager. I was no showed for the interview on a Friday after multiple attempts to contact the manager. On Saturday, I was sent a rejection email and text. Waste of time and left a bad taste in my mouth. This is what I’ve experienced at IU, unprofessionalism and lack of follow up.
