Applied for a management role. HR screened me and booked the interview. This took a couple of weeks. Interview didn't seem to follow any structure and just threw random questions in. No behavioural questions at all. Interviewed by the hiring/senior manager and one of the direct reports of the team. It has been four weeks and still haven't heard back. A bizarre experience.

Unfortunately, the interview experience was quite disappointing and uncomfortable. The panel appeared to be relatively inexperienced with conducting interviews and seemed unsure of how to engage in a meaningful dialogue. They relied heavily on scripted questions, delivering them in a robotic manner that lacked natural conversation or follow-up which felt more like being assessed by an AI than speaking with real people.
What stood out most was their lack of clarity around the role itself. They weren’t able to articulate what level of expertise they were seeking or provide insight into the team structure, culture, or how they operate day to day. These are all critical factors that help candidates assess whether there’s a mutual fit.
The only positive aspect was my interaction with the Talent Acquisition representative, who was warm, clear, and professional throughout the process.

Entrevista
The talent acquisition person was the only friendly person I encountered during the process. She talked me through the process and skills they were looking for.
Unfortunately, this wasn't the case with the actual interviewers.
The interviewers were expressionless throughout the process, rattled off questions from a checklist that they had probably not written and made the whole interview very robotic. It was evident they hadn't done too many interviews before. It also felt like they were keen to understand what other companies operating in the same space were doing and all i could see was them type off all the info I was giving them.
They got very uncomfortable with my questions about the culture and how this role would fit into the team org chart.
