Study valuations thoroughly—not just memorizing the formulas but understanding the underlying logic, as that’s the key aspect. Make sure to grasp the three core financial statements in detail, and go beyond just DCF to understand comparable company analysis and precedent transactions. Additionally, get familiar with important concepts like net working capital, free cash flow, and WACC (including its components like cost of equity, cost of debt, beta, and the risk-free rate). There are countless resources available for this, including using GPT for practice.
Also, be prepared for unexpected questions, like: "What’s the angle between the hour and minute hands of a clock at 3:15?" be sure you can explain your reasoning.
