Candidatei-me por indicação de um funcionário. O processo levou 3 semanas. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa KitchenSync (Los Angeles, CA).
Entrevista
Went through two interviews and submitted a two page written assessment. Everything seemed to go well, but I understand a lot can happen behind the scenes and it’s obviously their right to pass on candidates. My issue is with the fact that I had to reach out after over two weeks of radio silence to be told they would not be moving forward with next steps. I suppose I dodged a bullet, though, because I don’t see myself at an organization that can’t muster the decency to let someone know they didn’t get a job after a relatively involved interview process. Job hunting is hard enough than to have to deal with companies like this.

Describe a time when you made a mistake, and what you did to correct it. Tell me about a time when you were overwhelmed and how you dealt with it. Talk about a time when your organizational skills helped you be successful when working on a team.

Phone interview with recruiter, 2 virtual interviews with payroll managers. Process is simple as long as you have experience in both customer service and payroll. Before you accept, please read the acceptance letter. There were discrepancies between what was verbally told and what was on the acceptance letter.

Right up front, do not bother applying to this company if you are African American. I knew I didn't have a shot as soon as I walked off the elevator and the woman interviewing me looked bothered. I was even more confident that I didn't have a shot when the interview actually started and she barely asked me any of the question on her paper and didn't look at my resume and barely made eye contact with me. I was coming from over 15 years of experience with employee benefits and may have even been overqualified for the job I was applying for. But I didn't expect to be treated like dirt. It would be more beneficial if they were upfront in the phone interview process that they don't hire African Americans than to make me come down there and treat me so poorly after they saw the color of my skin.
