I tried to explain that by its very nature, two-phase commit is not bullet proof and tried to engage in a discussion regarding what the system goals would be on the way to deciding if two-phase is even a reasonable architecture choice to address those goals. I was trying to model how we would work together in the role proposed for me. The Architect just got more and more angry that I wouldn't just answer the half-assed question he was asking. OK, I can be stubborn.... Well, at least it was clear that LinkedIn wasn't a good match for my style.
