First interview:
The process took entirely too much time.
(Which means out of all the people you have to speak with probably none of their opinions count but one person.)
They were not quick communicators with the recruiter or myself and it took 2 weeks just to get the first interview.
I was there for over four hours. Met with four people who all asked me questions regarding personality and all stressed how they didn't want to hire a "bad apple."
No one asked a single technical question even an engineer whom I spoke with for an hour.
I got nothing but smiles and positive feedback and at one point they wanted me to go right to speaking with management which appeared to be a good sign. (But they already left for the day)
This turned into a second interview that also would have taken another week to schedule had the recruiter not pushed for something sooner.
Observations:
When I was in the office waiting to be seen on both occasions, it was way too quiet for a help desk.
The first time, there was barely anyone at their desks.
The second interview there was physically more people but everyone appeared to be sitting around not doing much and it was very quiet or everyone was outside smoking.
The second interview:
I met the owner and a partner who were both very nice and professional but didn't really seem to know what position I was even applying for.
I was there for 2 hours.
One person even asked me what I wanted to do there?
Which kind of confused me and gave me an impression no one really talks to one another at this place.
Follow Up:
A day later at the end of the day I received an online assessment for personality and some math/logic related questions. (none had to do with IT directly)
More questions about personality and how I feel about myself and feelings about other people.
The next day the recruiter called and said they declined to offer because "I wasn't technical enough"
Summary:
2 days of interviews.
2 weeks of scheduling in between.
6 hours.
6 different people who asked me collectively about personality questions.
Their conclusion for hire could have only been based on a 20 question test based on examples like " 24 is 60% of " a multiple choice answer. Or what is the next pattern shape of circles & triangles after 4 examples.
Conclusion = A total waste of time!
