I had a ~30min initial phone screening with a recruiter after an employee referral was submitted on my behalf along with my application. Was a great call, she just wanted to learn about my experience and my goals and she told me about the job and what the interview process would look like. Then, I was contacted a few days later for a 45min interview with the hiring manager. The interview was mainly behavioral-based questions based on scenarios, pretty easy stuff. I think it went very well. However, about a week after the interview, I hadn't yet heard anything back but was told by the employee who referred me they went with an internal candidate. Thought all interviews and communications were handled professionally until they basically ghosted me at the end.
