Lengthy process that included a high-level design project prompt. The project itself was quite in-depth for a preliminary screening and labor intensive. The project itself should have been more straightforward given the role was only for custom development and not designing for an in-line assortment of new goods. Project was to complete designs based on provided trends and supporting trend research. Nonetheless the interviewers liked the project I completed and made it to the next round for a virtual meeting with direction and lead designer. Upon the interview, I realized they didn't thoroughly review my qualifications, especially the director. She seemed surprised to know I did custom rug development even though it was clearly noted in my resume. But honestly not surprised considering her background was not in textile development for rugs so possibly a bit of a learning curve perhaps or in a rush to fill the role.

Easy friendly process initially with experienced Head Hunter with good knowledge of the company history. Second interview with direct supervisor very professional and thorough assessment of capabilities and clear if too high expectations.
