I was recruited for the role. Initial video screen with the hiring manager then full loop in Seattle. In person interview consisted of six one hour interviews (which included a surprise extra interview, making the loop 6.5 hours long) Pros: * Office has a pretty view Cons: * Their behavioral interviewing style, core values, data-driven approach and obsession with a high hiring bar and interview questions are clearly pulled (at times almost verbatim) from the Amazon playbook, but Amazon is much stronger at every single one of those things (and frankly a much more dynamic and interesting place to work). * The level of talent and interview expertise of those I interviewed with varied dramatically. Many interviewers were clearly asking rote questions without the follow-up detail or deeper conversation that a behavioral interview should have. * The company has no idea how they will grow further from here. They admitted they have a relatively weak brand, rising competition and little differentiation but answers to questions about what they could do next ranged from "more of the same" to "we don't know". * When asked about problems at Remitly two of my interviewers cited lack of diversity as a continuing problem. * Generally the weakest interviewers where the ones who had been there the longest, which was raised concern. * Most strangely one of the interviewers actually got combative with me and accused me of false humility at one point, which was a truly bizarre experience. * Finally, travel was arranged last minute and there were some errors requiring me to be on the phone with the airline to straighten things out before each flight. Also, no reimbursement was offered for travel to/from the airports, which is pretty standard stuff for companies of their scale. So factor in the cost of travel and food if you are thinking about flying out for an in-person loop (for me, several hundred dollars).
