Tree rounds of interviews to meet the team and senior management followed by an assessment. Not so complicated but the process was long and I got ghosted at the end!!

Economics and data management questions. Like what's the first thing you do after collecting your data? Or do you think the Bank of Canada will decrease its policy rate.

I applied to CBOC in Nov 2023 and heard back regarding an interview in mid January 2023 so there were ~9 weeks between the time I applied and when I was first contacted by CBOC's third party recruiter for a phone interview. By that time, I had already started a new job but was curious about the company so decided to take the interview anyways to learn more. After the phone interview, there was a call with an exec director. I was told that the third step would have been another interview with the newly hired program manager, followed by a written assessment, followed by a group interview/meeting to determine cultural fit - so a 5 step interview process. However, after my second interview with the exec director, I was ghosted despite a follow up to the director I interviewed with and the Sr. HR Coordinator with whom I had previously been communicating which is very unprofessional IMO but not surprising given the many negative reviews posted about the organization.

Here are the following interview questions I had with the HR recruiter: 1. Tell me about yourself; 2. What do you know about CBOC and what about the org interested you in applying?; 3. Written communication is a must - rate your communication skills on a scale of 1-10; 4. Tell me about your writing/research, what kinds of things have you written?; 5. Tell me about the quantitative and qualitative research methodologies you are familiar with and have used? 6. Do you have experience with building statistical models? 7. Can you tell me about the project management tools you have used? 8. This is a 100% remote position – no office and no face to face with colleagues. How comfortable are you with that and how do you stay motivated? 9. Why are you looking for a new job? 10. Do you have any business development relationship (BDR) experience?
Here are the questions I was asked from the exec director (lots of repetition and overlap with the screening call questions): 1. Why do you want to work here in this role specifically and with CboC generally? 2. Can you tell me about your familiarity with immigration related issues? 3. Are you familiar with immigration issues that CBoC has worked on? 4. What research methodologies are you familiar with in terms of qualitative and quantitative (give examples)? 5. What are some projects in the immigration space that you’d like to see the CBoC undertake? 6. Project management is an important part of the role. Tell me about how you organize yourself and stay on top of things? Any PM software you have used? 7. How did you get started and familiar with immigration studies re: education and what sparked your interest? 8. How do you approach collaboration and working in teams (examples)? 9. What would people who have worked with you say is something you need to improve upon? 10. How would you describe your writing style?

It was easy and the HR manager asked some questions related to my background, challenges I have faced before, and how I solved them. also, she asked about salary expectation
