Candidatei-me por meio de uma agência de recrutamento. Fui entrevistado pela TELUS (Montreal, QC) em jun. de 2021
Entrevista
I interviewed with 2 ladies from Quebec. They were looking for a bilingual person, most of the interview was in French except 1 question was in English.
The interview was on video call. The communication from one person was so poor considering I was interviewed by a telecommunication company. She didn't even care to use proper technology from home.
The astonishing thing is when after 30min of the interview, I have been asked a couple of questions that I have never heard before; questions were of a discriminatory nature kind of " tell me where are you and I tell you who you are".
Questions were:
What is your native language ?
Where are you originally from?
At that moment that the interviewers are more interested to know my cultural background while I'm perfectly bilingual.

Interview was remote. Interviewer cut to the chase and asked very detailed questions on relevant skills and experience. They were transparent with all of my questions. Interview went really well, but I eventually declined to move to the next round as the interviewer later mentioned they will be leaving the team and I didn't want to continue interviewing for a position not knowing who my manager will be.

The hiring process was long and inefficient. I waited over 5 weeks for a response, during which HR completely ignored my follow-ups, providing no communication, feedback, or updates, which left me feeling overlooked, undervalued, and highly disappointed by the overall experience.

I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn about a remote Project Management opportunity with Telus. The screening interview went well, and I moved on to my first remote interview with the Telus Team Lead. From there, I was told that he wanted me to prepare a 20 minute case study presentation, with very specific instructions. I basically prepared an entire project management plan, and change management plan including graphs and matrixes in under 2 days. I felt the presentation went very well, however at the end of the presentation the hiring manager (Wesley) asked extremely specific questions about my charts, down to the digits and timelines I used. Nevertheless, I responded in a logical way given all the information I was provided. A few days later, I was contacted and told that I didn't get the position because apparently I didn't answer a question about Telus's product lines in enough detail. I thought that's something you learn on the job and can be trained on?

How my project timelines presented in the case study presentation graph would work in the real world (even though in the case study I only had 3 months to complete the project).
