My first contact with the company was at a school career fair where I had a conversation with an HR employee where they asked me my class standing (freshman, sophomore, etc), GPA, experience, interests, ability to relocate, and other questions. I was then contacted a few months later (maybe 2) where I was given the opportunity to have an onsite interview at the plant. At the interview I was interviewed by 3 individuals who were managers in the department(s) where the available position(s) was/were in and an HR employee. The interview was a behavioral interview where the questions are usually about giving an example when you did something and what were the results (usually around job/life events like dealing with a difficult person, obstacles in projects/work/etc). I was then given the opportunity to ask questions, this is where they see if you are really interested in working for them or just looking for an internship to gain experience. Whatever the case, ask questions about the type of work you are expected to do, any outstanding expectations (like if they will demand OT from you, amongst other questions), pay (if you're brave enough, I usually save that question if I'm even offered the position), and anything else you're wondering. I think if you don't take advantage of this time and seem at least interested it'll place you lower down the totem pole against other candidates.
