I applaud and praise the use and implementation of HireVue(webcam interview website), which conforms to UA's mantra of "relentless pursuit of innovation" however I feel that, at the same time, it can be hard for a candidate to display a sense of passion when talking to a computer screen. Personally, I am much more lively when speaking with another human because I view my sense of enthusiasm and hunger to learn as personal strengths, but I am not sure if I got those messages would be received via interviewing via video recordings. The other added benefit of speaking with the webcam, which decreased distractions, is that the interviewee has less distractions from the interviewer. The need to assess and gauge the interviewer when speaking and listening was not present, which I typically enjoy during interviews
