      Entrevista

I only did the first round interview, but they invited me back for the second "event interview." I turned it down after reading the reviews on here, because the "president" Meg, completely misrepresented the position. I was lead to believe it was an actual marketing and communications position where you would be writing press releases and developing marketing plans, but it turns out you will spend the first six months pushing products on people in Sam's Club for their "events." After reading about the 9-10 day work week, with two days off, and the horrible commission compensation, I decided this was not at all what I wanted to do. I'm so angry at the organization for misrepresenting the position in their job posting. It seems completely unethical. Had I known what I was actually interviewing for, I never would have wasted two hours driving up to Raleigh for a 10 minute interview.

      Entrevista

I applied on Linkedin, the HR recruiter contacted me very quickly for a face to face interview in the office. Once I got to the office, which was a bit old and run down, I waited for 20 minutes before my interview! If I have an interview at 3:00pm I expect it to be at 3:00pm. I can see waiting a few minutes, but 20 minutes is unacceptable. When the candidate before me was finished I started my interview. After abut 20 minutes it was over, and I was invited to come back for a second round interview. The second round interview would be me watching some kind of presentation, which they did not thoroughly explain well. So anyway, I was expecting to come back for the second round interview the following, but the HR recruiter left a voicemail saying I have to reschedule. So I called back twice, nothing in return. Then I emailed her, then she said they had chosen someone for the position Monday so they are not doing any more interviews. Like, what kinda crap is that? I feel like it was a waste of my time, very unprofessional.

      Entrevista

The interview process has 3 parts. For the first interview you go in to meet with the president of the company, Meg. She's very nice and I enjoyed talking to her. It's a brief meeting, 15-30 minutes. She asks you about leadership experiences, your 5-year plan, and why you would be good for the position. That same day I heard back that I was making it to the next round. This was an Event Review Interview held at a Sam's Club in Raleigh. I walked in and wasn't really sure where to go. I asked the person who stands at the door and he had no idea what I was even talking about. So then I just explored and saw a display of hair products. Figured that had to be it so I went over. I was greeted by the person I was supposed to be meeting with. I stood and watched as one of the girls tried to sell the product to a woman. I was then asked what marketing techniques I noticed and some other questions. The interviewer took me over to the cafe and we had our actual interview right in Sam's Club. This to me was a little unprofessional, but given the circumstances I tried to have an open mind. I asked what the turnover rate was for the company and she did not even know what I was asking. I had to explain what that was and even still she didn't quite answer my question. It was awkward. She explained to me that there is a rotation and that you could work 9-11 days straight before having 2 days off. That to me was a huge negative. The pay structure seemed confusing but what I got out of it was that what you put into it is what you get out of it....So commission. About half way through the interview I realized this was not a position that I wanted at all, but answered her questions until she was done. I was relieved when we finished. Standing in a Sam's Club and trying to sell products isn't what I want to do with my degree. The job description is misleading and had I known from the start that this is the work it entailed, I would not have applied. I do not know yet if I have an offer, but if they give me one I'm going to respectfully decline.
