Uncomfortable. No standard Technical Writing Interview questions. I am an open-book in Interviews about reasons for leaving any company I have worked for, but the questions regarding employment history had a very suspicious tone that I just didn't understand. The Interview process almost seems to have embedded in it the idea that people are hiding something. In a previous role I even had an FBI background check (and I have clean background), so I did not understand what I sensed to be suspicion on the part of the Interviewers. The entire interview simply felt weird. As a friend of mine is fond of saying, "Sometimes rejection is protection."

What a HORRIBLE company! I went through multiple interviews strung out over 4 MONTHS. Do they really think people can afford to take so much time off? Arrogant and demanding. Then at the very END of this long process I met the witch of HR who demanded to know my salary....really lady? You didn't think to involve yourself from the get go before I wasted so much of my time on your company? Some of the interviews were with potential colleagues, two of whom had the personalities of a sponge. Ugh.
I think this is one of those companies that keeps going on fishing expeditions to look for talent, but doesn't hire. I notice that all this time later they have posted the same position AGAIN. Can you say red flag?
Watchguard, get serious or stop wasting people's time with your fishing expeditions.
Thank you for your constructive comments above. We try very hard to make the most efficient use of everyone's time during our hiring process, but it sounds like we really missed the mark on your case; we will address this with the interview team to avoid this in the future. We have recently filled several technical writer roles and continue to look for candidates as we add to our technical writing team.
