Nowadays in order to survive and you have family depend on you, you would not choose just get a job, and do not depend on EDD, I take it even it's contract, to support and survive. While looking for full time work I took these jobs as consulting and the interviewer assumed that I do not deserve to be hired because of too many consulting work. She assumed I was not hired as fulltime, but actually those were only contractual jobs it was not going to convert to full time. I hope someday she will realize what is to be in my shoes when she experience same as I do.
