Our apologies if you felt that our questions are too intrusive; we are trying to make sure that we find the right fit from both sides, and communication/soft skills are very important for us and for our clients. It is crucial for us that an applicant can have a good conversation, answer questions (not only technical ones), and has real-world business experience. Therefore, the first part of our interview process (also stated on our website) is about seeing if there's a fit on the broader spectrum of skills + a cultural fit with the company, as we really value the culture part. The second part tests technical skills in the assessment, but if you don't get there, you wouldn't know. Lastly, based on our years of experience and a lot of trial and error, we decided to not count PhD years as years of working experience. Due to many varying experiences that quite often have a negative outcome, we have become extra cautious. This is also for the best of the applicant, because often the nature/type of our work doesn't often fit them. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
