I applied online for the new grad position for the Burnaby office. First I was contacted by a recruiter who called from California and them told me that the position was actually software testing and asked me if I was interested. I wasn't interested but I wanted to use the practice for technical interviews so they scheduled one. The technical interview was with someone who called from India. When I asked about an overview of what the company does, he spent 15 minutes rambling on about really specific things. And as far as technical interviews have gone, this was by far the worst experience I had. He had a hard time conveying what he wanted me to do and what the question actually was. And to top it off, he asked me to code on a Google Doc.

First, online assessment, then a recruiter call. There was a video interview, and this is where I got rejected. The recruiting process was really fast, and a recruiter was friendly and responsive. A video interviewer was OK. He wasn't rude, but he kept getting distracted by something else during the interview and behaved at the end as if he would never see me again. The recruiter sent me a rejection email after two weeks. she might be on vacation or waited until they completed the video interview process, whatever. One thing that I cannot understand is the title of the position. They told me that I would work on automation scripts and test frameworks. It sounds like SDET rather than SDE. Make sure what you will be exactly doing.
