Shopee is honoured to be recognised as the 6th Best Global Brand on YouGov’s Best Brand Rankings in 2021. YouGov’s Best Brand Rankings recognises brands that are best perceived by consumers across the region. It includes perceptions of a brand’s reputation and whether consumers would recommend the brand to others. Over the past year, we strived to create the best shopping experiences by tailoring and adapting to our users’ needs. We are also humbled to have improved our rankings compared to 2020, and to see our efforts be recognised once again this year. Ready to start travelling again? We are happy to partner with leading global travel platforms Agoda and Booking.com to launch our new digital product, Shopee Hotel. Through this exclusive partnership, Shopee users will be able to access one of the largest online inventories of hotels, resorts, homes and apartments supplied by Agoda and Booking.com. This means that users can seamlessly search, book and get instant confirmation, all on the Shopee app. Shopee Hotel will be rolled out across seven of our markets (Southeast Asia and Taiwan), starting with Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand this month. Adding to the excitement at #Shopee1111 Big Sale, Shopee Hotel will give shoppers a greater variety of choices and exclusive hotel deals and discounts, as they plan for their year-end staycations and holidays. As travel gradually rebounds, we will be doing more to support the recovery of the local and international travel and tourism industry by connecting them to the region's largest online community of shoppers. Sea and Shopee announced our results for Q3 2021 yesterday. Our strong results reflect our dedication to our mission of bettering the lives of consumers and small businesses through technology. In the recent months, our signature year-end campaigns delivered greater value to our sellers and consumers. During our 11.11 Big Sale, we were especially heartened to see an uplift in participation from consumers in rural and smaller towns as they enjoyed the convenience and wide assortment on Shopee. We continue to help sellers be more competitive, by rolling out more features, tools and services to help build engagement with their customers. This includes launching Seller Missions, an incentive program that rewards sellers as they complete certain tasks. The program gamifies sellers’ experience as it guides them through features and tools on Shopee they can use. This is one of the many ways we are deepening engagement with our users. That’s a wrap on this year’s Shopee 11.11 Big Sale! At Shopee, we go big on celebrating our employees and milestones. From 11.11 campaign packs delivered straight to our employees’ doorsteps in Vietnam, to distributing sweet treats and special drinks to those working in the office in Shenzhen, we marked the end of another successful campaign. In Singapore, we organised terrarium-making and tea appreciation workshops for employees to explore and enjoy. Over in Thailand, employees were treated to a virtual concert starring local artiste, Nont-Tanont! We’re glad to share the joy and see this year’s sale make a big impact on our buyers, sellers and local communities. We are happy to see Shopee's 11.11 Big Sale make a big impact on shoppers, businesses and local communities. Shoppers across the region snapped up over 2 billion items ranging from groceries, mobile phones, to furniture throughout the festival period, breaking past-year records. We also helped more people access and enjoy the benefits of e-commerce, with a 5-time increase in the number of shoppers from rural and smaller towns. First-time local sellers in the region saw a strong boost to their businesses, with orders surging 18 times. We also brought businesses and shoppers closer together, with more than 3.5 billion messages sent in-app on Shopee Chat across 11.11. In Thailand, we rallied users to give back through our Mini Charity Concert, which recorded over 500,000 views on Shopee Live, and raised more than 1 million baht throughout 11.11. We’d like to thank everyone for your support, and look forward to bringing more value and smiles to those around us!
At Shopee, we do our best to support talent around us. Aspiring Indonesian entrepreneur Asror dreams of helping businesses in his hometown export and grow. He recently joined Shopee’s UMKM Export Campus in Solo, after taking President Joko Widodo’s advice to learn there. Asror picked up essential skills, and Shopee provided him with a working capital of IDR 50 million to launch his online business. We are excited to embark on this journey with him. In the Philippines, our Shopee Express rider Josel is an undergraduate working part-time to support his grandmother, and ease financial burden at home. Outside of work, he is a table tennis athlete who aspires to be a coach one day. He balances school, work, and training with strong focus and determination. We are deeply humbled by Josel’s devotion to his work, especially to his family and dreams. To further support him, we gifted him a new motorcycle and essentials for his family. Shopee is humbled to be a part of these inspiring stories. Together, we can do more to uplift talent and help them achieve their aspirations.
