Shopee’s 10.10 Brands Festival marked 5 years of Shopee Mall, and we are continuing our efforts in driving growth for brands across the region. This year, we worked with thousands of international and local brands to bring the best deals and rewards to everyone. Here’s how we’ve also shown our support for local brands this 10.10: - In Singapore, we partnered with ‘Made With Passion’ to create online retail showcases for local businesses, making their products more widely available. - Our ‘Buy Malaysia’ campaign made its return for 10.10 in Malaysia, connecting shoppers to local brands they love. - In Indonesia, our #ShopeePilihLokal (Shopee Chooses Local) opened up more opportunities for local brands to market their original crafts and artisanal products. - In the Philippines, the Go Lokal programme, which promotes local products from MSMEs, launched its official store on Shopee Mall to reach more shoppers. Together with the support of our brand partners, we look forward to delivering greater value at the 10.10 Brands Festival.
Shopee is helping businesses strengthen their digital presence and make the most of the year-end shopping season. In Indonesia, our new Shopee MSME Campuses in Solo, Bandung and Semarang support underserved sellers to expand their businesses online. They can visit its in-house facilities to upskill, and even create their marketing materials. In Taiwan, our Shopee for Business Facebook page is a one-stop resource that educates sellers about e-commerce. Every month, we engage brand representatives for our live webinars to share digital tips and brand case studies with sellers. This will help them stay ahead of the curve and grow in the long term. In Thailand, we curated opportunities for MSMEs to gain financial knowledge and support from industry experts. Our second edition of Shopee University: Financial Edition welcomed speakers from leading local banks (KBank, Siam Commercial Bank and Bank of Ayudhya) who shared various tips to help Thai sellers manage their business finances more efficiently. We look forward to empowering more local businesses on the road ahead.
Shopee’s signature 9.9 Super Shopping Day was a great success! We delivered a memorable and rewarding experience for shoppers across the region. Users were spoilt for choice with the best deals and widest variety of products on Shopee. They bought a total of 45 million items in the first 99 minutes of 9 September, and claimed 60 million vouchers in the first 2 hours. This translated into strong results for first-time local sellers, who saw 8 times more orders on 9.9. Across the region, Shopee continued to delight users with exciting activities. Users watched 24 million hours of fun-filled livestreams. This includes an exclusive interview with Jackie Chan, and exciting performances by leading K-pop groups TWICE and Secret Number. On Shopee Prizes, we saw a total of 4.5 billion game plays. Our Jackie Chan-themed Shopee Shake emerged as a crowd favourite, with 440 million shakes recorded. Sea and Shopee announced our Q2 2021 financial results- a reflection of our successful efforts to bring value to users, and positively impact our communities through technology. We continued to step up our support for businesses and communities, many of whom are still affected by the pandemic. We partnered with local governments to launch shopping campaigns dedicated to local sellers, such as our National Food Fair with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the Philippines and the Sarawak Digital Mall with the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation in Malaysia. We also continued to contribute to pandemic recovery initiatives, including supporting national vaccination programmes and donating supplies to those in need. Concurrently, we continued to connect local businesses to online shoppers with our platform. We launched more exciting shopping campaigns, such as our successful mid-year sales to excite our users, while shining the spotlight on local sellers and MSMEs in our markets. We look to make an even bigger impact on consumers, businesses, communities in the road ahead.

Last month, we held Shopee Seller Summit 2021 where we hosted over 700 guests across official brand partners and local sellers on Shopee Singapore. We would like to thank Ms Dilys Boey, Assistant Chief Executive of Enterprise Singapore, for gracing the event as our Guest of Honour, which reaffirmed the importance of public and private partnerships to support capability building and digitalisation efforts of our SMEs. During the event, Junjie Zhou, Chief Commercial Officer, Shopee and several members of the Shopee team shared more about how we are building an ecosystem to benefit businesses and consumers in the long run and also heard from industry speakers and partner brands regarding key insights. We also recognised many local sellers for their resilience and strong growth with Shopee in the past year via an Award Ceremony. We hope the Shopee Seller Summit 2021 provided sellers and brand partners with useful insights, support and motivation, as we continue to work together to bring more action-packed campaigns and exciting experiences for our community in the next half of 2021.
