2021 was a big year for Gympass' diversity, equity, and belonging initiatives! With the help of our employee led affinity groups, we led numerous awareness events, hosted organization wide unconscious bias training, and launched our first global commitment plan. These efforts are truly thanks to our entire global team. Making our company a more inclusive place to work is something that takes each and every one of us. We're humbled to have been recognized as a top company for diversity and a top company for women in 2021 by Comparably! Gympassers are getting back to the office! We've moved to a hybrid working model which allows employees to choose where they want to work. Our offices are reopening at reduced capacity on a volunteer basis. This has allowed teams to meet in person (some for the very first time!) We expect to be at a reduced capacity until next year. At that time, we'll work with all teams to discuss whether in-person, hybrid, or remote work is best for each employee. One thing we've learned this year is that everyone is unique and has their own way of working that is optimal for them!
We are humbled to share extraordinary news and a special note from Gympass Founder & CEO Cesar Carvalho: Since our founding in 2012, we have grown and evolved, turning Gympass into the world's largest corporate wellbeing platform. Today, we’re more inclusive, engaging, and accessible than ever before for our community. We continue to expand, seeking to reinvent new wellbeing experiences such as mental health, nutrition, and therapy, the same way we did with physical activity. This is a big step towards our goal of making wellbeing universal and helping the acceleration of Gympass’s growth, as people are heading back to the gyms and studios they love! I am proud to share that we have raised $220 million in a new round of investment to further fuel growth in the US, improve the product experience, and continue to expand into new categories such as mental health, nutrition, and personal training. We are excited to see where this new chapter takes us! Learn more about our journey and the future of Gympass: https://bit.ly/3x47uXe

How healthy is your home office set-up? Gympass' Physical and Cognitive Disabilities group is dedicated to making our workplace setup more comfortable for employees with physical and cognitive disabilities. Our goal is to keep all our colleagues healthy and injury-free. Last Friday, the group organised an interactive workshop session on how to create an ergonomic home office setup. We discussed different pains and injuries we can suffer from a bad home office setup, the possible reasons behind it, as well as DIY and useful tips to help everyone create a healthier home office. We learnt 3 important lessons: 1. Adjust the monitor to eye level: you can get thrifty using old books, yoga blocks, or a simple shoebox 2. Have an external keyboard and mouse and make sure both are aligned, the mouse shouldn't be above the keyboard 3. Check the right distance between the table edge and keyboard by a 90-degree bend in your arms. It should also be the angle of your lower leg and upper thigh.
