Job Summary:
To be successful as a production employee you should be able to work on the production line with consistent speed and accuracy. A production worker should be able to follow direction from management, maintain production standards, and work toward improving quality while respecting food safety requirements.
Appropriate Candidate for this position possesses the following skills:
- Strong communication skills
- Physical dexterity: ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in cold conditions (38 degrees Fahrenheit)
- Strong attention to detail – maintain product quality.
- Is able to follow directions and ask questions if not clear on assignment.
General Responsibilities are as follows (but not limited to):
- Following productions guidelines and specifications
- Following all food safety protocols
- Able to work as a team
- Good attendance necessary
- Seasonality: During holiday periods production will need to ramp up to meet peak demand (ie, Thanksgiving, Christmas/Channukah, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Purim, Passover, Easter, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, etc) will require that employee not take time off the 1-3 weeks unless absolutely necessary.
- Finalizing, packaging, and labelling products for picking room and shipments
- Monitoring the assembly line and adjusting/removing faulty products
- Working on the production line and meeting production targets
- Reporting issues to the supervisor on duty
- Attend and participate in all food safety training.
Daily Tasks:
Production employee works with the production team to produce required items to meet demand. Employee will be trimming, slicing, adjusting, and vacuum sealing smoked salmon.
