Electronics Engineer – Chipboard / MDF Production
Location: Brazil (Utradecor Operations)
Travel Required: Frequent travel to production and project sites across North Africa, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical, electronic, and automation systems within our Chipboard and MDF manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, optimizing control systems, and supporting industrial automation projects across multiple international locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operation of electrical and electronic equipment.
- Supervise the maintenance and performance of automated production systems and installations.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair control, instrumentation, and measuring equipment.
- Optimize and fine-tune control system settings to improve equipment performance and production efficiency.
- Participate in the preparation of maintenance schedules, operational plans, and equipment repair programs.
- Identify equipment, spare parts, and tooling requirements and prepare procurement requests.
- Develop, modify, and optimize control circuits for automated equipment using:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Industrial automation systems
- Electric drives
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Manage and supervise third-party electrical installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
- Support production and maintenance teams in resolving electrical and electronic equipment issues.
- Maintain technical documentation, maintenance records, and system updates.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, company procedures, and industry regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and operational performance.
Requirements
- Specialized education in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electronics, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Proven experience working with industrial electronic equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with PLCs, industrial automation systems, electric drives, and frequency converters is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience supervising contractors and third-party electrical installation work.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good computer literacy, including MS Office and technical software applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively to operational sites in North Africa, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
