ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are hiring on behalf of a confidential client — a well-established marketing and technology agency delivering innovative digital experiences through cutting-edge cloud technologies. As an Architect Back-End Developer, you will define application frameworks, set architectural direction, and drive technical standards across the organization.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Mastery of multiple programming languages and application frameworks, including an understanding of their relative strengths and weaknesses.
- Ability to collaborate with customers to define application frameworks that effectively meet their needs.
- Actively contribute to determining preferred application frameworks across the company's technical community
- Expert in evaluating new tools and languages to find the best fit for project requirements
- Proficient in creating and applying custom frameworks from scratch to enhance existing ones across multiple projects
- Actively contribute to open source projects for the advancement of open standards and the industry
- Expertise in applying responsive design concepts on multiple projects, including creating CSS frameworks from scratch when existing frameworks don't meet requirements
- Expert in using build tools such as Gulp and webpack to automate common build processes and standardize team workflows
- Proficiency in tiered architecture and concepts, including failover, clustering, and load balancing, with the ability to troubleshoot and performance-tune in these areas
- Proficiency with execution environments, including application deployment, application servers, load testing, and performance tuning
- Proficiency with enterprise architecture, including CMS, cloud (PaaS, SaaS), eCommerce, search, SOA, and infrastructure
- Ability to design multiple systems spanning different environments from cloud to internal data centers
- Expert in setting architectural decisions and direction for an entire project
QUALIFICATIONS:
✔ 5 – 7 years of back-end development experience
✔ Bachelor’s degree preferred, and/ or equivalent work experience
✔ Mastery of multiple programming languages and frameworks
✔ Proven ability to collaborate with customers and technical teams to define effective frameworks
✔ Expertise in evaluating tools, creating custom frameworks, and contributing to open source
✔ Proficiency in responsive design and CSS frameworks
✔ Skilled in build tools (Gulp, webpack) and workflow automation
✔ Strong knowledge of tiered architecture — failover, clustering, and load balancing
✔ Proficient in application deployment, load testing, and performance tuning
✔ Deep understanding of enterprise architecture — CMS, cloud (PaaS/SaaS), eCommerce, search, and SOA
✔ Ability to design systems across cloud and on-premise environments
✔ Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
✔ Collaborative, humble, and proactive with a passion for continuous learning
