Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist with a proven background in collections, billing workflows, and revenue cycle management—preferably in a podiatric or orthopedic setting.

This is not an entry-level front desk role. The ideal candidate understands that the front desk is the first and most critical step in the revenue cycle and is confident in managing financial responsibilities at the time of service.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage front desk operations across two locations (Sherman and Anna)
• Perform real-time insurance verification and benefit breakdowns for every patient encounter
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and prior balances at time of service—without exception
• Identify coverage limitations, authorization requirements, and referral needs before visits
• Work closely with billing staff to reduce claim denials and improve clean claim rates
• Ensure accurate patient demographics, insurance data, and coding support documentation
• Utilize EMR systems (ModMed preferred) to support scheduling, documentation, and billing workflows
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional patient interactions at all times
• Actively contribute to improving office efficiency and financial performance

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a medical front office with strong collections responsibility
• Direct experience with revenue cycle processes, including:
• Insurance verification
• Authorization workflows
• Patient balance collection
• Understanding of EOBs and claim rejections
• Podiatry, orthopedic, or surgical specialty experience strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of CPT/ICD coding basics and how front-end errors affect claims
• Experience with ModMed or similar EMR systems
• Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently discuss financial responsibility with patients
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
