I had a phone interview with one of the manager at Amazon.com AIR team this September. With all the interviews I had before, this was the rudest experience I have ever had.
Firstly, from the tone of the talking, you got the feeling that the interviewer was just finishing a task with no intention to communicate and get to know you. She was impatient when you trying to answer the behavior question with examples and kept prying the detail of the project I talked about when answering the behavior question until I pointed out that those were business related and confidential.
When it was my turn to ask questions, one of the question I asked was "to whom this position report to", to which other interviewers would usually provide an answer with a description of the team structure. Somehow this interviewer sounded surprise and impatient, and said she didn't understand my question and simply replied only with "to a manager".
Finally, when I asked about the next step, she did explained the hiring process a little bit, but after I thanked her and told her those were all the questions I had for now, SHE HANG UP, without even a "Okay, bye". It was both shocking and irritating to me since other interviewer would at least end the conversation with "Have a nice day" and "Goodbye".
I know that I can't judge according to just one phone interview, but think twice before you interview with or even join the team. If the manager can treat the me, a potential employee, with this attitude, I can't imagine how miserable a life they have for those who actually work for her.
