Applied online, got a response with some qualifying questions about experience, and salary requirements. Then I was invited to a web interview, which is just pre-recorded questions you get like 5 seconds to prepare responses to. Then I had a phone call to prep for an in-person. This was supposed to be a panel, but became a phone interview technical, and managerial face to face. Throughout the process recruiters stayed in contact, and gave great advice to prep for interview, and accurate expectations, and this was very much appreciated. Was given an explanation for position matching that of Sys-Admin and Net Admin / engineering, escalation point, and mentoring. Offer given was very low ball for responsibilities and expectations of mandatory OT, travel, lengthy busy On-Call schedules, especially for those with experience. This included a signing bonus that got close to a decent salary, but it decreases the next year, and 3rd year you start getting stocks that boost income. Fair compensation (fair for the area, was about 30-40k below same job, but in Seattle) begins around year 4, but from sound of it, would be burnt out before second year. While this would have been a fantastic opportunity to get some unique experience, I got a strong impression this was a position for someone new to IT, that has to accept lower pay, to get foot in the door, not for someone with experience. Strong impression employees are not considered valuable. Was advised there is high turn-over (for IT); sounded like a real grind for significantly less compensation than my current, and that of what could be found elsewhere. Benefits seemed good if you are already healthy. Recruiter refused to negotiate on any part of offer, so I could not accept.

They ask a lot of technical trivia questions that have nothing to do with the job. They like hearing stories about how you raised the bar and/or made your prior job better. Be familiar with the STAR method.
