Amazon definitely hires the worst possible unprofessional people as recruiters. If anyone interacts with such recruiters, then all their list of Leadership Principles sounds nothing more than script of a drama. Applied through an employee referral through an ex-colleague. He recommended me to apply for SDE2 role even though I have 14 years of experience. His logic was that external hires often fail to live up to expectations of Senior role. Alright, did the same. A recruiter contacted me after online form filling etc and says that we don't consider people with 10+ yrs for SDE2. I told her to loop me for Senior SDE role then. she said ok - and sent me an automated form to select interview slots. I selected timings post my work hours. Now, the fun begins. She calls me within minutes after I selected the interview slots. She requested to select timings within normal working hours only. I said fine, and then she said that she will resend the interview slot selection link. Several hours passed - no response. Emailed her - no response. Out of nowhere, I checked my application status on Amazon jobs portal - it was marked as NO LONGER UNDER CONSIDERATION. Great way to go Amazon - you call a candidate to schedule interview dates and then instantly cancel the candidature. Contacted my ex-colleague through whom I had applied - he too has no idea what is going on.
