Dell came to our career fair and I met with the recruiters. I talked to them about the data science intern role and it was a good conversation. After a couple of days later on a Friday, I received an email from another recruiter that my interview is scheduled for the next day (Saturday) for test engineer internship. She said my resume was picked up from a career fair resume bundle. 1. I did not apply for a test engineer position 2. There is nothing on my resume that correlates with hardware testing (Yes, not software testing) But I was in search of an internship and Dell is a big company, so I said yes for the interview. During the interview, they asked about my projects and then started explaining what they do in server testing. I said I would be interested in this new field. They asked me if I have any experience with server testing. They can see my resume and figure out I am a data guy! After the interview, I waited for 3 weeks before mailing the recruiter for a follow-up. She did not respond. I tried again after 3 more weeks. Again no response. I thought Dell was a good company that cares about the interview process. Turns out, they don't. First, they interview me for a completely different role and then they do not even respond. At least send reject email! Very disappointed with this whole experience.
