A video interview/coding session. There is no one on the other side asking questions, they just record you and your code and review it later. I did this, and did OK. I know I messed up on one of the bonus coding sections, so I wasn't sure I would get a call back for a second interview. I heard nothing from IBM for about 2 months, and then I get an email on Tuesday letting me know I have been selected to advance to the second Guru interview. This is supposed to be a live video interview which includes some whiteboard coding. Great! However, the IBM recruiter says in her email that I have to do this on Wednesday or Thursday (24-48 hour notice). Well, that's a bit short notice to give my current job, but OK. I reply back letting her know that any time on Thursday works for me... And then I never hear anything back from the recruiter. No acknowledgement of my email, nothing. After waiting a bit I send a second email just in case the first did not go through. Still no reply. It is now Friday, and I still have to hear anything back from IBM. There was no phone number or anything for me to try to call in the email. It seems very unprofessional to ask someone to schedule a second interview and then give them no reply.

After submitting your application, you’ll be given a HackerRank link with a fairly simple coding test (2 coding type and a few multiple choice). Then you just have to wait until they decide to get back to you. It was honestly a lengthy wait game because I didn’t hear back from them until 2 months later and this was only part 1.
