While I did not get a written offer, I basically thought I had the job after interviews with people manager and the actual boss, hiring manager. However, I did not get the job and I was told the actual decisions was made "up the chain".

Interviewer: "Do you mind if I teleconference in my executive to listen? By the way, avoid getting overly detailed while he is on the line as he is a bottom line, results-oriented person."
