Entrevista
I was set up with the interview through my school recruiter, who asked me to fill out a preference sheet (indicating what areas of interest, front end, back end, etc.). When I arrived on the MS campus, I found out I was interviewing for nothing I'd preferenced. When the interviewers asked me what I was interested in, I was honest. It didn't align with their work and on my third interview my interviewer told me I was a good candidate but not for that team. I was very thrown off by this and he wouldn't let me talk about it any more. He also said he was my last interview, but when I was waiting for the shuttle my fourth interviewer came to get me. It seemed very disorganized. The questions weren't hard, but it seemed like I was set up for failure from the beginning. I was disappointed to have such a bad/pointless experience because I've always heard how good the MS interviews are. I wasn't impressed. Microsoft is very generous and takes care of all travel arrangements, so that was very nice. Another thing that turned me off... I found a manager publicly tweeting about how I wasn't a good candidate. Not professional

Entrevista
Not a great experience with interviews taking 1 month to complete. Despite ongoing communication, the role did not move forward, reportedly due to approval constraints. The overall experience highlights a gap in aligning internal approvals before progressing candidates to advanced stages.
Clearer communication and better alignment internally would improve the candidate experience

The interview process is grueling and I get why people do it but its more awareness, know that you'll spend an entire day and meet several people, so it's important to be mentally and physically prepared. Eat a good breakfast but not heavy stay hydrated. This was just for a PM role it's their standard process I imagine executive level is another thing altogether

Tell me about a time you didn't agree with someone who was a stakeholder on your project and how did you handle that?
Very smooth, thoughtful interview process. It showed the recruiter really cared what I had to contribute and asked great followup clarifying questions. Would definitely recommend everyone try an interview with them even if it doesn't pan out.
