I worked at MSFT for 8 years. I went thru all day interview process twice. Once for an MBA internship and once for a fulltime gig. While at MSFT, I managed a team of 8-10 product managers for most of my time there. I was constantly interviewing others for positions on my team while there. Some thoughts for interviewing for marketing positions
1) Passion. Absolutely mandatory to show passion for technology. Often it is less abotu absoute knowledge and more about passion and ability to ramp. Your first PC, what you like about your ipod, why smartphones will change the world, etc. Pick your story and use it during the interview. Become familar and direct questions back to where you are comforatble.
2) Structured Thining. MSFT is a place of grayness often. It is up to you to figure things out. Having frameworks and strucuture to thinking is key. It will help you address unkown or new challenges - at work and in the interview process.
3) Metrics. Like any big company, metrics are key. MSFT is just figuring this out relative to your big marketing companies like P&G. Show how you think about metrics - markeshare, revenue, new accounts, etc. Use metrics to show your past expereinces and projects

I applied through my school's coop job system and they tattled on me! The school doesn't allow communication between prospective employers and students...but Microsoft does all its communication outside the system and the school does nothing. I got another offer outside the system, and needed to give an answer. I reached out to the recruiter asking when offers would come out (this is common practice), who said she couldn't tell me, and then next thing I knew I got an email from the school telling me off for going "outside the system". The employees and recruiters are weird and culty about working there, too. They try very, very hard to impress 18-22 year olds. This was a couple years ago (writing this to get more Glassdoor access lol) but their nastiness in ratting me out while breaking the same rules hasn't escaped me.

Recruiters came to college fair. Received email saying I was being flown out for an interview. Met with software engineer first, asked basic coding questions. Then met with product manager.

How would you improve a currently existing Microsoft product?
Pretty chill, low pressure questions. I had an on-campus interview with them and the conversation was relaxed and the interviewer led me to answers, which was pretty nice. Be prepared to showcase any experiences you have with teams and leadership.
