The entire selection process for this opportunity was a big waste of time and money for me . The first contact was made in early December 2013, when I received an email from a hiring manager asking if I was interested in a wave of Engagement Manager to meet the region of West Africa and the Middle East .
The first interview by telephone with an Engagement Manager , occurred on December 22, 2013 . Then I was subjected to two more interviews in January 2014 , two interviews in February and March in two interviews . At the end of 7 interviews by phone , I was told it would need to go through a process of personal interviews . It is worth mentioning that I always had the best feedback from all interviewers with whom I talked .
After 19 hours of flight between my country and Dubai ( UAE ) , went through three personal interviews , two of them with people who had previously interviewed me by phone . Microsoft has paid the costs of airfare and hotel , but all the other expenses of the trip went by myself .
When I returned to my country got the news that I did not receive an offer of employment for the following reasons :
1 ) you have not the depth in the project management structure we require
2 ) your experience is limited to to infrastructure and we need a Broader app dev experience
3 ) we are looking for someone who has more executive presence que will be able to work with and influence customer executives
Let´s see...I work in the IT field for 23 years, with 12 of them in the desired function by Microsoft. How not have enough experience? At no time during the four months of interviews, I was told or asked anything about Apps development.
The worst was the third reason: I work to 20 years with executives at all levels, whether or not the client with which you are involved. At the end, I was treated in a humiliating manner, missed four months and spent $ 500.00 of the reserves that had to keep me until find another job. It's scary to see such a lack of professionalism in a company like Microsoft. Never again I will apply for a job vacancy in this company
