The worst interview experience that I have ever had in my entire life. I have interviewed from small scale startups to Faang companies. I can easily differentiate between a good interviewer and a bad interviewer. When I interviewed for a Software Engineer position. A hiring manager (Lady) interviewed me and half of the interview was totally on machine learning and neural networks. I clearly mentioned I am only interested in software engineering roles and the position itself is a software engineering role. She kept on asking me questions on machine learning. And the worst part comes when I was asked to code out a problem (An Array), I was not given a choice to choose a programing language that i am most comfortable with, However they wanted me to only code on the language they wanted. This is the most dumbest thing that I ever saw, Any interviewer with common sense would look out for the analytical thinking and problem solving skills in a candidate, not how good is writing the syntax of some programming language, I mean its just syntax that he need to be perfect. Infact somehow i was able to finish the code and run it succesfully. however i took lot of time to correct the stupid syntax and I believe they judged me on basis of that. WORST WORST TRASHY interview experience. I will never join or advice my friends to join a firm which hires people who are good in remembering syntax instead of hiring people with good problem skills and brains. Infact i am happy that i got rejected
